Find a text thread (1 min)
Try for one with a fair bit of back and forth. Scroll far enough into the past that you don’t remember the thread well. Â
Scan the conversation (3 mins)
Moving message by message, copy a few words or a sentence you like from each. Copy verbatim, and don’t skip any words. Keep going til the three minutes is up.Â
Sing through what you copied (2 mins)
Do this a cappella or accompanied. It’s up to you. Sing through a few times, see if any phrases have melodies jumping out or getting hooked on them. Take the bits that work. Scrap the rest.
